SUNDANCE TO PREMIERE
IN BRUGES, BE KIND REWIND, THE GUITAR, AND HENRY POOLE IS HERE

SOUNDTRACKS TO BE RELEASED BY LAKESHORE RECORDS

LAKESHORE RECORDS will release four soundtracks for films to be premiered at the Sundance Film Festival: IN BRUGES, BE KIND REWIND, HENRY POOLE IS HERE,
and THE GUITAR.  In addition, on January 20th there will be a special musical performance of the music of Fats Waller from BE KIND REWIND, featuring the film's star Mos Def, director Michel Gondry, and composer
Jean-Michel Bernard.

IN BRUGES
opens this years festival and stars Colin Farrell. Bruges, the most well-preserved medieval city in the whole of Belgium, is a welcoming destination for travellers from all over the world. But for hit men Ray and Ken, it could be their final destination; a difficult job has resulted in the pair being ordered right before Christmas by their London boss Harry to go and cool their heels in the storybook Flemish city for a couple of weeks. Very much out of place amidst the gothic architecture, canals, and cobbled streets, the two hit men fill their days living the lives of tourists. But the longer they stay waiting for Harry's call, the more surreal their experience becomes. And when the call from Harry does finally come, Ken and Ray's vacation becomes a life-and-death struggle of darkly comic proportions and surprisingly emotional consequences. The soundtrack features original score from Carter Burwell (NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, ADAPTATION, BEING JOHN MALKOVICH).

BE KIND REWIND
stars Jack Black and Mos Def.  After a botched attempt to sabotage a power plant, by Jerry (Black), he accidentally erases all of the videotapes in a local video store where his best friend Mike (Mos
Def) works.  To save Mike's job, the two team up to keep the store's only loyal customer happy, but re-filming every movie she decides to rent.  From "Ghostbusters," to "Robocop," to "Rush Hour," to "The Lion King," Jerry and Mike become the biggest stars in their neighborhood by starring in the biggest movies ever made.  The film features numerous tunes by Fats Waller, performances by Mos Def and Michel Gondry with original score from Jean-Michel Bernard.

Luke Wilson
plays the title character in HENRY POOLE IS HERE.  Henry is a terminally ill man who abandons his life to spend his final days in solitude.  His noisy neighbor disrupts his attempt and the discovery of a 'miracle' by this neighbor helps to restore his faith in life.
Composer John Frizzell (THE PRIZE WINNER OF DEFIANCE, OHIO, THE REAPING) contributed the score.

Amy Redford's
directorial debut is (daughter of Robert Redford) THE GUITAR.  The life of a woman is transformed after she is diagnosed with a terminal disease, fired from her job and abandoned by her boyfriend.
Given two months to live, she throws caution to the wind to pursue her dreams.  The original music was composed by David Mansfield (formerly of Bruce Hornsby and the Range, composer TRANSAMERICA).

NAPOLEON DYNAMITE GRAMMY NOMINATION

Lakeshore Records is proud to have the Napoleon Dynamite Soundtrack Album nominated for the Best Soundtrack Album Grammy Award.

Through the collaborative efforts of the albums producers, the composer and the filmmakers a truly unique package was created and we are grateful to the National Academy Of Recording Arts and Sciences for it's recognition.

The album is perhaps one of the most complete, and best produced soundtrack albums in recent years that entirely captures the essence, universe and experience of the film it represents.

As a pop culture phenomena, The Napoleon Dynamite Soundtrack Album is more than just a collection of film songs, or score, or inspired by songs. The album has struck a chord with fans as a complete package.

Featured on this compilation is the unique score by composer John Swihart, songs from the films most memorable scenes, a few hand picked inspired by songs by the filmmakers and label, as well as the Bow Wow Wow classic "I Want Candy" featured in the films trailer.

In addition to all the above, perhaps the most enjoyable aspect of the film itself, the cast dialog is also included between songs to create a package that is as close to perfect as any soundtrack album can be to reference and relive the experience of the film itself.
